Celebrating Web Excellence at the 2025 Australian Web Awards
Celebrating the Best in Digital
Great work, good people, and plenty to talk about

Last weekend, the Optimising team had the pleasure of attending the 20th Australian Web Awards, and what a night it was. [test]
Held at Q Events in Melbourne, the room was packed with some of the best operators in the digital space. From designers and developers to SEOs (well maybe we were the only SEOs…), the energy was high and the work on show was world-class.
Proud Sponsors of the SEO Category
As long-time supporters of the event and AWIA, we were proud to once again sponsor the SEO category; it’s always a privilege to support and celebrate the incredible work being done across search in new websites, and this year’s finalists raised the bar again.
A huge congratulations to the winner and all the nominees. Your work makes our industry and the internet better.
More Than Just Awards
One of the things we love about the Australian Web Awards is that it’s not just about who takes home a trophy. The night was full of important industry conversations, especially around accessibility, diversity, and creating more space for underrepresented voices in tech.
It was clear from the crowd that many in our industry are pushing for real, positive change, and we’re here for it.
Catching Up with Mates
These nights are also about the people. It was great to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and share a drink or two with some of our favourite agencies.
A big thank you to the Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA) for putting together such a thoughtful and well-run event.
We’re proud to be part of this community and already looking forward to the next one.

Co-Founder
James is Co-Founder of Optimising and has been working in SEO for over 20 years, across everything from complex site migrations to multi-location franchise rollouts. These days he spends just as much time thinking about how brands show up in ChatGPT and Perplexity as he does about Google rankings. He started out running sports fan sites and early eCommerce stores before building the kind of SEO agency he actually wanted to work at.
Outside of work, he's usually being out-negotiated by his three daughters or supervising yet another cubby house build in the lounge room.
