We finally caught up with our newest PPC member, Isadora (and proud resident of KP aka Kangaroo Point in Brisbane). We chatted about how she made the leap to the land of PPC (spoiler: it's not what you expect). Needless to say, we are so glad she's joined our team!
How did you get into PPC & Paid Media as a career?
My background is a little unorthodox! I studied a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting at QUT but after a year working at an accounting firm I realised it wasn't the industry for me. I'd always been interested in helping small businesses in pragmatic but enjoyable ways, so after taking a bit of time off to travel and upskill I found working with Google Ads and Facebook ads was a perfect combination of those skills. My accounting experience gave me valuable knowledge about the importance of financial management for small businesses, which gives me a different perspective on client needs and understanding the importance of managing their cashflows while chasing leads.
Do you have a favourite project/campaign you are working on at the moment?
I love anything to do with Ecommerce particularly when the client has Facebook, Google, SEO. At the moment I am focussing on improving the shopping titles in all of my campaigns to increase the number of searches they are showing up in and also improve the quality of searches by targeting more specific terms.
What’s one thing you’re learning right now? Why is it important?
Integrating review platforms eg Judge.me into Facebook and Google ads to provide social proof to potential buyers. Social proof is a really powerful tool when trying to improve both your click through rate and also your conversion rate.
What three words would your friends and/family use to describe you?
Funny, generous and caring.
Do you have a go-to productivity hack?
It's easy to get distracted by notifications, so I like to designate blocks of time to read and respond to emails so I'm not constantly taken off task.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
Road tripping down to the beach and cooking up big Sunday night dinners for my friends.
