Creating the Melbourne Ice Facebook Page

Some of the Optimising team headed down to the a game of Ice Hockey a few months back, and I'll be honest, we were not expecting too much. To our surprise, we encountered a great sporting culture, great fans, a great product, and a very entertaining way to spend a Saturday evening. We immediately knew we wanted to get involved somehow.
The 'Melbourne Ice', who recently won their third consecutive 'Goodall Cup', have been using Social Media really well over the past 12 months, and we thought it was time that they had a proper Facebook presence which matched their passion, and professionalism. After being given the go ahead to get involved, we completed some research into what some of the big US Ice Hockey Teams were doing to engage on Facebook, as well as an analysis on what was being done locally in the AFL, NRL and A League competitions. The ability to get easy access to buy tickets We were lucky that the current Melbourne Ice website had been coded on the open-source Wordpress platform, which made the integration and implementation of our ideas that little bit easier.
