Daniel Zuccon | Operations Director | Co-Founder
With over 20 years experience in the industry, Daniel has produced an extensive number of web projects for some of Australia’s largest brands. His passion and interest for web development originated from building his first website in 1998 (in exchange for a skateboard, no less!) to running many successful boutique eCommerce stores and large online communities.
Since then, Daniel has made the leap of co-founding Optimising, the specialist SEO Agency that we know today. From its humble beginnings, the team has grown from a two-man enterprise to a large core team, growing into a highly respected digital agency.
James Richardson | Sales & Marketing Director | Co-Founder
Working in the SEO industry for many years alongside some of Australia’s biggest brands, James started his online career running online Sports Fan sites, as well as cutting his teeth on several successful eCommerce brands and content sites.
Previously holding various senior roles across the Sales and Marketing teams for ASX listed companies, he went on to found Optimising with Daniel and is proud he has helped mould it into one of Melbourne’s leading SEO agencies.
When he’s not in the office he’s at home having pretend tea parties, or building a cubby house in the lounge room with his two young girls.
Nathan Davies | Business Development Manager
Nathan brings a wealth of experience to the Optimising team with a list of credentials too long to list here! He has a strong SEO and PPC background, both in-house and agency, and believes that online marketing contributes to a business’ bottom line in a meaningful way.
In his spare time, Nathan enjoys overseas adventures (who doesn’t?), chucking stuff away from his dog, playing/watching/yelling at soccer matches, and writing about himself in the third person.
Nathan is our ‘go to’ guy for business marketing and business development, so if you’ve got a question about anything we do here at Optimising, give him a call.
Dan Morrison | Team Operations Lead
Originally from Perth, Dan has spent the last 5 years running his own digital agency in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. After finally accepting that he would never master (or learn) the local language, fit comfortably through doorways or sit on a street side stool without putting himself and everyone around him in physical danger, he decided to return to Australia or "real-life" as he refers to it.
Having dabbled in almost every aspect of digital production over the course of his career, and currently completing a Project Management degree, Dan came ready-made to fill help the whole team at Optimising. With a passion for transparency, client engagement and innovative solutions, Dan is well prepared to manage any digital challenge.
Simon Lawrenson | Senior Web Developer
After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University, Simon held a number of developer positions in the north of England. With a passion for development but a keen eye for design, it's the perfect combination for delivering beautifully crafted, pixel-perfect websites with the functionality to match.
Dreaming of blue skies and golden beaches he traded England for Australia, only to arrive in Melbourne during the cold winter months. Luckily the cold didn't deter him and he loves to experience everything that Melbourne has to offer.
Mike Nicholas | Paid Media Specialist
Mike joined the Optimising crew in 2018 as one of our first professional placement students from Swinburne University of Technology where he studied a Bachelor of Business degree.
Since then, Mike has extensively developed his digital marketing skills, now specialising in paid advertising through Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads networks. Mike's goals are to ensure that our clients reach their objectives by delivering highly relevant messages to users, whilst maximising their ROI.
Outside of work you'll find Mike driving cars, flying planes, and annoying people on a golf course with his triple bogeys!
Maryse Dubois | SEO Specialist
Maryse graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Arts (Film & TV, Chinese).
Deciding she’d lived in the Queensland humidity for far too long, she’s one of the few people who moved to Melbourne for the weather. After working in-house she decided to make the move to agency life with Optimising.
Outside of work you’ll find her pursuing her passion for painting and drawing, being a long suffering fan of her favourite NFL team the Houston Texans and hanging out in the park trying to find people who need a dog sitter.
Roscoe Thorne | SEO Specialist
South African-born, Roscoe, moved across the ditch from New Zealand in 2013, and has since got a taste of Melbourne agency life in both small and big corporate.
With the dream of being a professional basketball player being laid to rest, Roscoe decided to throw in the towel as a Fitness Club Manager, and after completing a Diploma in Business and a Front-End Development Diploma, he pursued his keen interest in Digital Marketing.
Apart from being an avid New York Knicks basketball fan(he realises how painful this has been over the last 15 years), he used to run an NBA podcast you probably never heard about, and has a keen interest in most things music or dog-related. Mostly dog-related.
Felicity Soler | SEO Specialist
Fel is currently studying a dual Bachelor Degree of Business and Media & Communication, co-majoring in Marketing and Public Relations at Swinburne University.
With a background in design, she enjoys utilising those skills in the fast pace of digital marketing at Optimising. After graduating, she hopes to continue growing her skills and continue her career in the industry.
When Fel’s not at work, you’ll find her at any one of Melbourne's many dog-friendly cafe, asking strangers to pet their doggos.
Roberta Hernandez | Accounts Executive
Along with studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, Roberta keeps everything running smoothly at Optimising.
She hopes to continue her tertiary education upon finishing her BA, with the mind of pursuing law. Roberta's other goal upon finishing her first degree is to take a trip around Europe.
Outside of school and work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, passionately supporting the Essendon Bombers and watching reruns of "The Office".
Emma Sharpe | SEO Specialist
Emma is currently finishing a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Social Media and Marketing at Swinburne University.
Working for Optimising gives Emma the opportunity to grow her skills and keen interest in all things Online Marketing, whilst putting to practise the theory university has taught her.
Outside of work, she plays netball and tennis with friends; spending time with her family in rural Victoria, and searching for new and exciting brunch spots in the south-eastern suburbs.
Tamera Crang | People and Culture Lead
Tam originally hails from the US and has resided in Australia since 2011. She brings a wealth of experience to Optimising - previously leading end to end digital projects, managing marketing teams in the ecommerce space, and even working as a freelance stylist for TV/Film.
She has a deep affinity for nurturing high performing teams, helping them excel and creating a positive, inclusive workplace.In her spare time, she loves practising yoga, baking and exploring all the foodie destinations that Melbourne has to offer!
Jim Ferguson | SEO Specialist
Jim is a self-proclaimed Internet geek, fascinated by the web and its potential, so a career in SEO is a great fit. With experience in both in-house and agency SEO, Jim has worked with both local businesses and big ecommerce websites in competitive industries. He likes to geek out on finding any technical hiccups a site might have, matching user intent to on-page elements, and deep competitor analysis.
Jim also likes riding his bike with his daughter, reading a good thriller, and mucking around with new technologies.
In a previous life you may have caught him acting on the screens of a long-running Korean TV Show!
Sam Penny | SEO Specialist
Sam made the move from rainy Manchester to sometimes less rainy Melbourne in early 2017 and hasn’t looked back since. With a background in digital marketing for non-profits and publishing, he was the perfect candidate for an SEO Specialist role here at Optimising.
Outside of work, Sam is the Associate Editor for the Melbourne digital journal The Suburban Review. He also has a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, playing the guitar, and fermenting his own kimchi (pee-yew!).
Harry McNamara | SEO Specialist
Originally from Brisbane, Harry has spent the last 4 years working in the marketing and advertising space working across in-house and agency roles.
Excited by the prospect of wearing jumpers and coats, Melbourne was the number one choice to escape the hot humid weather in Queensland.
Outside of work you'll find him looking for the best cheese toasties or exploring the many laneways for cafes to sit and watch the world go by. He also has a passion for running and finished his first half and full marathon last year.
Nick Parkinson | Paid Media Specialist
Nick has been working in the digital marketing space for over 5 years, providing a variety of SEO & PPC services for various businesses and websites. He is driven by data, and aims to develop strategies to get valuable traffic to client websites through Google Ads and Facebook.
In his downtime, Nick plays Futsal and keeps a close eye on the latest results in the AFL & European Football Leagues, whilst sourcing groovy beats from his favourite disco house artists.
